What is a process group?

An interpersonal process group is a small group of individuals facilitated by a therapist looking to enhance and improve their relationships with others in order to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life. The group meets weekly to “process” their relationships to each other and with the external world. It is an opportunity to be human with other humans, to spontaneously and authentically communicate and relate, and to give yourself the space and grace to be with whatever unfolds. Committing to a group means you will commit to this weekly time (or give advance notice if unable), show up, and be present as your full self for the session. Whatever and however you’re feeling, as long as you are honest about it, you are welcome.

Want to feel more confident and comfortable setting boundaries with loved ones? Build stronger, more reciprocal friendships? Less alone in your experiences? Learn how to resolve conflicts? Accept yourself as you are? Group can help with all of this. By being yourself with group members, you will hone skills to practice outside of the group.

I’ve had first-hand experience participating in process groups and can attest to the magic of being in a shared space for open and honest dialogue about how we affect each other. I’ve learned a lot about myself through this experience, and it has shaped my passion to offer this space for others to grow and strengthen their interpersonal relationships.

Starting in March, I’m facilitating an 8-week process group to offer this unique experience. Group will meet Tuesdays from 5-6:30pm on Zoom. Each session is $50, cash pay (no insurance). You are responsible to pay in full for each week of the month the group meets, at the beginning of the month. Even if you are unable to attend for a particular session, you are expected to pay for that week to reserve your spot.

Curious about this opportunity? Check out this YouTube trailer for “Group,” a webseries of a process group. Fill out the Contact Me form and indicate your interest in group therapy. We will set up a free 30-minute phone consult to discuss if this is a good fit for you.
