Now accepting new clients for telehealth & in-person sessions

FAQ

  • For individual therapy, sessions are $275 for a 50 minute session (both in-person and virtual).

  • Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Typically, meetings are weekly, but can be adjusted as needed.

  • I don’t take in-network clients. I am out-of-network for all insurance plans, so if you have a PPO plan, your insurance will cover part of my fee. “Out-of-network” means that your insurance will cover a portion (usually between 40-80%) of the session fee after reaching your out-of-network deductible. This will cost you up front, and your diagnosis will be recorded, but it gives you the freedom to choose any licensed clinician and their records are more protected than if you go with an in-network therapist. I can either provide you with a Superbill (a medical receipt for reimbursement purposes, which you submit to your insurance company), or use Thrizer to simplify out-of-network payment.

  • My office is located in Granada Hills, in the northwest San Fernando Valley. If we meet via telehealth, I can meet online with people living anywhere in California. Online sessions are offered conveniently on a secure virtual platform and can be attended using most computers, tablets, and smart phones with a strong internet connection.

  • I co-regulate with highly compassionate, deep thinking mid-life women in the Northwest San Fernando Valley (Granada Hills, Northridge, Porter Ranch, Chatsworth, etc.) who need the gracious expanse of a dedicated time to slow down, breathe, befriend themselves, and know that they are good, even when they don’t produce.

  • I have lived experience with hereditary cancer risk. My father passed away when I was young from cancer. I was diagnosed as a teenager and have spent decades navigating the stress, confusion, bewilderment, and questioning accompanying this diagnosis. I have walked with clients diagnosed with cancer and other chronic illness as they ask new questions and face an uncertain future. I am constantly engaging with others who have had cancer, or continue to have cancer, and love learning from their wisdom (Suleika Jaouad, Andrea Gibson, Kate Bowler, Paul Kalanithi, Christian Wiman).

Professionally—I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). To be licensed, I had to graduate with a Master of Social Work, and accrue 3,000 professional hours, for which I met weekly with a licensed supervisor to get feedback on serving clients clinically, ethically, and legally. I am also certified in EMDR, which required many hours of consultation, conducting EMDR sessions with clients, peer recommendation letters, advanced training, etc. I have over 10 years of experience providing social services and therapy to adults who suffer from trauma, anxiety, depression, mania, panic, etc. I continue to sharpen my skills by consulting weekly with therapist colleagues and by educating myself with books, trainings, podcasts, videos, etc.

  • I walk alongside mid-life women fractured by pain, burdened by guilt and confused about their place in society. I teach clients to recognize and validate their needs, to set boundaries, and speak up for themselves even at the expense of external discord. I remind clients that life is worth living if they show up fully for themselves, even if that means heartache, suffering and grief. That on the other side of that is love, and experiencing the breadth of being human, and truly knowing yourself and others. I use somatic techniques like EMDR to help you feel safe and in your body, and to re-process trauma, along with CBT and DBT for practical tools to worry less and feel more regulated.
