What can therapy do for you?

You’ve seen it on TV, your friends talk about it, you’ve seen the ads. But what can you realistically expect from therapy? While the range of therapeutic modalities, philosophies and practitioners cover a broad swath, this is what you can expect if you work with me:

  • feel safer in your body: name, sit with, and “feel into” whatever sensations show up in your body

  • increase your emotional vocabulary: identify the feeling and why you feel that way, not feel bad about it, and move towards your goal

  • know and express your boundaries more clearly and confidently

  • learn about the body, brain, emotions, attachment, trauma: and be kind to yourself for not “figuring it out by now”

  • face your fears: while NOT shutting down

You can experience all this in a relationship of consistency and security. Every week, you will have 50 dedicated minutes to focus on your needs and goals, and overcome whatever’s holding you back. I know this can be a tenuous space, so please also know this: I will hold hope for you.
